SHANEEKA REID - CEO, HER TIME OF THE MONTH & NEXT IN LINE PROGRAM
Shaneeka Reid is a wife and mother of eight, a community builder, a creative visionary, and a woman called to impact generations. Her passion for giving began in childhood, when she would bring clothes to school for anyone in need and often begged her mother to adopt classmates from the foster system. She has always carried a heart for service, healing, and empowerment.

FUELING PASSIONS
A singer at heart, Shaneeka brought part of her dream to life by performing with Sounds of Blackness from 2013 to 2019, where her voice and spirit helped inspire audiences across the country. Her educational journey reflects her belief in second chances and self-investment: after earning her GED, she immediately pursued multiple trade programs. She received credentials from American Indian OIC as a Medical Office Specialist, from Summit Academy as a Community Health Worker, and later graduated from Empire Beauty School—fueling her long-time love for makeup and hair.
In 2021, she launched LooksByNeek, offering free and volunteer makeup services to build her portfolio and pour back into her community. Through galas, events, and countless encounters, she built deep connections—yet also experienced the heartbreak of losing support from people closest to her as she grew. Those quiet seasons of isolation planted the seed for what would become her life’s mission.
THE BEGINNING OF HER TIME
In April 2025, she hosted a themed “Old Lady Bingo Night” for women seeking connection, laughter, and a break from everyday responsibilities. What started as a fun idea quickly gained momentum, drawing 15 women—friends and strangers—who were hungry for sisterhood. That night, Her Time of the Month was born.
THIS IS THE BLUEPRINT
What started as monthly themed gatherings transitioned into a purpose-driven movement. By July 2025, as inspiration began to run low, Shaneeka organized a partnership with a Black-owned makeup brand. Her Time provided the space and refreshments; the entrepreneur brought her products, artist, and giveaways. The event was a hit—and it was the moment Shaneeka heard God speak: “This is the blueprint.”
What's next
THE POWER OF ONE WOMAN'S YES
Today, Her Time of the Month is a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting women entrepreneurs through quarterly community-hosted events that spotlight and support their businesses. These events revive the lost art of word-of-mouth networking, bridging women with resources, visibility, and genuine community.
Inspired by the presence of young girls volunteering at these events, Shaneeka expanded her vision and created Next in Line—a program designed to expose teen girls to leadership, entrepreneurship, volunteerism, and real-world opportunities. She believes wholeheartedly that “When we heal a young woman, we heal the woman she becomes—and the home she will lead.”
Through Her Time and Next in Line, Shaneeka is rewriting the story of what community, sisterhood, and generational healing look like. Her life is a testament to resilience, calling, and the power of one woman’s yes.

Hi, my name is Normesha Houston. My journey is rooted in a lifelong desire to uplift others. After building my career across the healthcare and beauty industries, I am discovering my purpose extends far beyond traditional roles. In every position I hold/ whether. Caring for patients, supporting clients, or helping someone build confidence and feel seen - I find meaning in connection, compassion, and helping people step into the best version of themselves.
